I love how the metal bowl keeps shave cream nice and warm. And love the razor, it's my first time ever using a straight razor and did the job well!
Well excellent product BUT WITH a very weak feature. The handle is very SLIPPERY during shaving, but most IMPORTANTLY & DISAPPOINTING IS...when the water is hot.....the handle gets to hot too, impossible to hold it comfortably. So I had to improvise. I used a rubber. The rubber makes the scuttle handle not slippery but also keeps the handle cool. Easy to hold the very hot scuttle at any temperature the water is. Therefore it's very disappointing when the consumer has to find a way modify the product chosen to please him. Especially this EXPENSIVE scuttle.
This scuttle definitely improved my shave experience. If you haven’t experienced a nice hit shave lather I highly suggest you pick up a naked armor scuttle and give it a try.
Guys, this was precisely what I was looking for. A slightly oversized, heavy, quality shaving cup.
The internal ""warm water channel"" works exactly as advertised. When filled with hot water, the cup becomes hot to the touch, warming your shaving cream and/or soap.
The indentations are perfect for getting a quality lather on good shaving cream and/or soap. Easy to clean, and should you require it, pop it right into the dishwasher and forget about it. Finally, it looks good, feels manly, and I like it in my everyday bathroom kit.
But! The damn Cork... Let's talk about the Cork!
It is a cheap, right-out-of-the-mill Cork. It is low quality and flakes if you scratch it moderately with your thumbnail. That isn't a big deal, but seems strange when paired against such a nice shaving cup.
But here is the problem. The cork is EXACTLY the right size for the warm water channel. This means that if you push it down with light force, it will go parallel to the surface and be difficult to pry out of the hole when finished.
Finally, if you're a functional moron like me, any ham-handed attempts to get the cork back out result in shoving the cork INTO the warm water channel. No! My Cork!!! I've been working at it for several minutes, like trying to dig termites out of a termite mound. Guys! My tools aren't working, and I can't get the Cork out.
To the manufacturer, please consider oversizing the corks. That would make it simple to push in and remove. Finally, it is impossible to be pushed into the warm water channel by idiots like me. The cork is an odd detail to screw up with such a quality shaving cup. Or, consider another type of stopper for the water channel that I can't conceptualize now?
